The Freedom Centre

Preston Road Village Centre is an active and vibrant community complex, the jewel of the Village Centre is the imposing Freedom Centre, which offers first class facilities for conferences, weddings, private hire and an array of community services. The Freedom Centre has established itself as a popular venue with the public and private sectors alike. Offering services benefiting the local community, the centre includes a cafe, family friendly gym, trainee Hairdressing salon, Minor Injuries Unit, Hull City Council Library and an extensive adult education learning programme. Along with these services, the centre also holds regular events for the community including over 55’s social club, indoor bowls club, sequence dancing club, Zumba classes, weightloss clubs and many many more.

WINNER, the Preston Road Women’s Centre provides information, support and advice to women in Hull. It is a multi-purpose organization run by women for women offering a wide range of services under one roof.
They offer the following services and activities:
- Drop in for relaxation and informal support
- Specialist domestic violence support and advocacy
- Safe, affordable housing across the city
- Accredited training in a variety of subjects
- Registered Nursery provision for 0-5 year olds
- Comprehensive volunteering programme aimed at improving quality of life and job opportunities
- Sexual health information and advice, including free confidential pregnancy testing and free confidential chlamydia testing
- Young women’s participation project
- Rainbows Charity shop offering affordable, quality second hand goods

EMS works with communities and businesses to deliver a range of environmental projects. They facilitate events and link together businesses and community volunteers to help develop or maintain public and private green/open spaces including:
• City-wide litter picks involving schools and community groups;
• Community gardening design and planting projects;
• General environmental clean ups;
• Painting and decorating of play parks, community and other public buildings;
• Large and small scale environmental projects and
• Alternative energy projects
East Hull Community Transport

East Hull Community Transport was established in 2001 and has grown and developed into a respected community transport organisation that serves the local community. They pride themselves by having friendly, professional drivers and staff that are always happy to help. They offer two key services, Dial a Ride and the Group Travel service are the fundamental building blocks that the local community can rely on and value for their day to day transport requirements.
